All students whose families choose to have them return to the school building will begin Tuesday April 6, after the holiday break (there is no school April 2 and April 5). We will continue to provide remote instruction to those families that have chosen this option. This is a very lengthy email, so hang in (and if you're like me, read and reread a couple times!)! We will have a family town hall meeting on Wednesday 3/24 at 5:30 https://meet.google.com/ xvu-fngd-pfm to discuss any questions/concerns. Be well, Mrs. Maestas Information about returning to in person school on 4/6/21: Many classroom teachers will be returning to our building on 4/6. Some of our teachers will be returning on 4/19. If your child's teacher will not be returning on 4/6, then your child will be in an internet cafe style classroom. Watch for an email later this week that will specify the model for each grade level/class. All students must wear a mask at school and on school buses. All students are encouraged to bring a filled water bottle from home. All students will need to follow social distancing requirements throughout the school day. If your child is ill and has any symptoms of Covid, your child must stay home. If your child recently was in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid, they must stay home. If your child needs to stay home they will continue with remote learning. We will have staggered arrival/dismissal times by grade level. This will help us to maintain social distancing. Grade Levels Arrival Dismissal 1st graders and families with multiple children 8:00 2:30/ Wednesday 12:10 K/3rd 8:10 2:40/Wednesday 12:20 2nd/6th 8:20 2:50/Wednesday 12:30 4th/5th 8:30 3:00/Wednesday 12:40 We will have early (staggered) dismissal on Wednesdays. Bus transportation is being provided and will follow a typical 8:00-3:00 school day. We will inform families of the schedule when this is sent to us by transportation. Attendance matters! If your family has chosen in person school, your child will be expected to come to the building every day, unless they are sick. Students will be offered breakfast and lunch each day. Make sure your child brings their computer each day to school fully charged. Hacer clic aquí para ver la agenda de la Junta. Hybrid and group A and B cohorts are gone! In-person and remote learning start April 6th We're getting close to a return to in-person learning! Gone are hybrid learning and student cohorts A and B, though student intermingling will be monitored. On April 6th, SFPS staff and students return to school five days a week and the same bell times as we had last school year. For elementary schools, Wednesday, not Friday, will be the early release day. After-school services are allowed in-person but virtual services are preferred. Volunteers, too, are allowed back, but on an individual school basis. Cleaning supplies, hand sanitizers? We've got you covered! Please do not send cleaning supplies or wipes to school with your children. We are only allowed to use approved cleaning products in the schools. Children may bring their own personal hand sanitizer if they choose. Students will be required to sanitize their hands, wear their masks, keep their hands off their faces and wash their hands before they eat or drink. We'll maintain 6 feet of distance between students to the greatest extent possible as required by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED). While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) allows 3 feet of distance, we are following the toolkit from the NM PED. To achieve 6 feet of distancing, extraneous furniture is being eliminated to the extent possible. Where possible, students will eat outside in alternate spaces. In the cafeteria, students will eat in their class groups, with students spaced as much as possible. ¡Las cohortes híbridas y de los grupos A y B se han ido!
